The most former distinction known for the Church of Chambéon goes back up to the XIth century (" ecclesia of Cambedono ") in the XIIIth century, the chapter of Lyon was to collateur in the cure the Church of which was dedicated in Saint-Etienne.
There is practically nothing of the former church which appears on the armorial of Revel and which rose inside the bulwarks of the castle.
The bottom of the current bell tower, which presents besides numerous tracks of reorganizations is the only visible track of this primitive church.
The church was built again in 1867 on the plans of the architect C.Buisson. The new building presents a cruciform plan with a head to five pieces. An arrow surmounting the bell tower of ogival style.
In 1947-1949, bell tower knows a repair. The facade is built in beautiful regular granite device, with double foothills. The church was renewed in 1995.
