The Pilat, because of its location near to Lyon, was one of the poles of the manufacture of silk muslin. Heir of this tradition, we propose scarves in muslin, crèpe, schappe.
Located in the Pilat Natural Park and the surroundings of Annonay, our company was founded in 1918 by our grandfather. Our activity, traditional in the Lyon silk industry, is called moulinage and consists of reeling and twisting the silk thread intended for weaving to make crêpe or silk muslin.
The very fine thread (20g for 9kms) gives the muslin its transparency. Its fluidity is obtained by twisting it on mills (2800 times over 1m). For more than 20 years, we have been making scarves and squares woven from our silk thread and hand-painted by artists or printed in very small series under the Lyre brand.
