Description

Walk through the cobbled streets of the historic district and discover its 15th and 16th century bourgeois houses, then climb up to the Collegiate Church to admire an exceptional panorama; from the plain of Forez to the Massif Central, the Pilat and the Alps.
This former count’s castellany has preserved part of the fortified town’s walls, and its cobblestone streets are lined with 15th- and 16th-century bourgeois and aristocratic houses. The Gothic-style collegiate church (early 15th–16th centuries) is remarkable for its size and simplicity. Murals of exceptional scale, painted around 1425, adorn the upper church and the crypt. Tour schedules are available upon request at the Collegiate Church, the Tourist Office, or on the town hall’s website.
