An ideal route for hot weather, with plenty of shade.
From Panissières, the first part of the route requires sustained effort as it climbs steadily to the Plan Melay plateau. Stop here to admire the sweeping views over the Forez plain and mountains. The ride then becomes gentler as it enters the cool shade of the forests. At the edge of the Taillis de Montchervet woodland, the terrain becomes steep. The route continues gently along trails lined with deciduous trees, leaves the woods along wide tracks, then ends with a sharp climb back to Panissières.
