The route can be quite muddy depending on the season.

Starting from Civens, the trails alternate between the wooded valleys of the Chanasson and Sault streams and the foothills of the Monts du Lyonnais, offering beautiful panoramic views. After a stop in the medieval village of Pouilly-lès-Feurs, the route leaves the foothills for more demanding hill country, where the climbs and descents become more pronounced. After crossing Mussy hill, the route follows scenic, steep trails with lovely views over the Forez plain and mountains all the way back.
