The route’s elevation profile offers a balanced mix of climbs, descents, and fast, flowing sections, allowing for an even distribution of effort.

After leaving Panissières and crossing the summit of Montamand, the route begins a scenic descent alongside the Étang de la Tuilerie, an ideal spot for fishing and picnicking. The fairly steep descent continues to the crossing of the River Loise, followed by a substantial climb to the village of Essertines-en-Donzy. After passing through the village, the route continues past the chapel of Notre-Dame de Bonne Rencontre, completing the loop through a succession of valleys and hills.
