Description
This route is anything but monotonous: with climbs, descents, scenic viewpoints and stunning landscapes, it’s a feast for the eyes, with a few short hills thrown in for extra fun!
The route starts with a short climb through the woods to get you warmed up straight away. The ascent then becomes gentler, offering almost uninterrupted views over the Forez plain as you approach Chazelles-sur-Lyon. The route then drops through the woods, briefly crosses the D1089 and climbs fairly easily along short paved stretches to the outskirts of Maringes. A gentle descent follows, with delightful stretches through the countryside leading to Saint-Cyr-les-Vignes. A short but technical descent then brings you towards Bellegarde-en-Forez. Enjoy the final few kilometres as you admire the château and the landscaped areas along the Anzieux.
