Description
Cycling from the Port at Roanne to Iguerande 21 km northern in Burgundy will invite you to explore the lovely Roannais countryside.
As it follows the course of the river, the Véloire trail runs along the right-of-way of a former railroad line and the towpath of the Briennon Canal to Roanne.
From Pouilly-Sous-Charlieu, you can reach Charlieu—a charming village—via the greenway built on a former railroad line.
In Iguerande, the Véloire connects to the Saône-et-Loire network, including EuroVelo 6, thus becoming part of the European network of cycle routes and greenways.
