A fairly short but demanding route, with a relentless succession of steep descents and climbs.

The first section leaves Essertines-en-Donzy, passing the chapel of Notre-Dame de Bonne Rencontre before continuing along a fairly easy stretch beside the River Loise. From there, the trail turns towards Chambost-Longessaigne. In the heart of the Monts du Lyonnais, the landscape is dotted with distinctive fortified farmhouses known as “fermes forteresses”. The middle section winds through a succession of valleys and hills, before an easier final stretch offering magnificent views.
